9,000-Mile E-Bike Tour Kicks Off in San Antonio to Raise Funds for Seniors

By Caring Senior Service

If you haven't heard by now, Jeff Salter is riding 9,000 miles on an electric bike to visit all of the Caring Senior Service locations across the country to celebrate the 30th anniversary of Caring. But that's not his only goal. Jeff also hopes to raise awareness of some of the gaps in senior care — like caregiver shortages, lack of senior care businesses, etc.

Jeff left on April 1st from San Antonio, but this ride is no joke! His goal on the bike ride is to meet with local officials, caregivers, business owners, entrepreneurs, and more to start a national conversation about senior care. He also hopes to raise money to close the gap in senior falls, which are one of the most common injuries seniors face. The Grab the Bars fundraiser is one way to close this gap by raising money to purchase and install grab bars for seniors who can't afford them.

You can learn more about Jeff's ride and the movement to Close the Gap in Senior Care in this news article. And you can stay up to date on the movement on our corporate site
