What is Caring Senior Service doing to stay on top of COVID-19? 

  • Caring Senior Service staff and caregivers receive training to prevent the spread of COVID-19 which includes recommendations from the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC). These practices include hand washing, staying home when ill, and following precautions when working with clients who are sick. We are monitoring the health and well-being of our clients and following all directions given by local health agencies, and the CDC. 
  • Staff and caregivers are performing a self-screening for COVID-19 prior to any contact with a client. Screening for COVID-19 is a series of questions asked to determine a person's risk for COVID-19. They include questions about symptoms being experienced, travel history in recent weeks, and exposure to someone who has been confirmed to have COVID-19. Personnel at risk of being infected is being removed from client assignments. We will not place any caregiver with a client for a minimum of 14 days or until cleared by a medical provider if the caregiver has been exposed to a facility where COVID- 19 is being treated, traveled to a location on the CDC advisory list in the past two months or started showing symptoms of the illness 
  • Caring Senior Service headquarters has been working with a supplier of Personal Protective Equipment (PPE). PPE is provided to each locally owned and operated Caring Senior Service location. Staff and caregivers use standard precautions such as gloves and masks.

How Do We Keep Clients Safe at Home?

Employees are required to perform screening for COVID-19 prior to any contact with a client. This screening for COVID-19 consists of a series of questions to determine a person's risk for COVID-19. They include questions about symptoms, travel history in recent weeks, and exposure to someone who has been confirmed or suspected to have COVID-19. Personnel who exhibit symptoms or who are at risk for infection are removed from client assignments. We will not place any caregiver with a client for a minimum of 10 days or until cleared by a medical provider if the caregiver has symptoms, has been exposed to or worked in a facility where COVID- 19 is present, or traveled to a location on the CDC advisory list in the past two months.  

Caring Senior Service locations have established a reliable source of Personal Protective Equipment (PPE). PPE is required when personnel is working with clients. Employees also use standard infection control precautions, such as handwashing, cleaning, and disinfecting, as well as the use of gloves, masks, and gowns when appropriate.
