Fun Activities for Seniors in Corpus Christi

By Caring Senior Service

Seniors living in Corpus Christi, Texas, are often on-the-go and active. Luckily for them, there are many opportunities for senior-friendly activities in and around this beautiful ocean-side city. When your senior is ready to explore the area, here are a few great places to visit.

Malaquite Beach

Malaquite Beach is a tranquil beach located on the Padre Island National Seashore. Seniors who are still able to enjoy camping in a tent can actually camp out on the shore at night and get a spectacular view of the Gulf of Mexico. The beach offers sea turtle releases.

In addition, Malaquite Beach offers other fun activities like swimming, kayaking, and more. Visitors can also catch more than just a glimpse of more than 380 bird species when they explore.

USS Lexington

The USS Lexington is a Corpus Christi attraction that seniors won't want to miss. The museum is home to a multitude of attractions and exhibits, including the Pearl Harbor exhibit, a 16-story "Blue Ghost" display of over a dozen military aircrafts and artifacts, a flight simulator, and a self-guided tour of the flight deck. Seniors can also relax and enjoy a 3D movie in the 3D MEGA Theater, a show that is free with admission.

Texas State Aquarium

The Texas State Aquarium is home to thousands of different, exciting animals — more than 460 species. Seniors can enjoy different presentations that are held every half hour and are completely free with a paid admission. Check out the coral reefs, dolphins, stingrays, and more during your visit. The aquarium offers refuge from summer heat or cool winter winds, making it ideal for seniors.
