OVERVIEW OF SENIOR FALLS 

Falls can be extremely dangerous for seniors, and they are very common in the elderly due to chronic conditions, balance issues, vision problems, or other injuries. 1 in 4 seniors over the age of 65 experiences a fall each year, and these falls often lead to serious injuries. For example, 95% of hip fractures are caused by senior falls. And, unfortunately, seniors who fall once are at a much higher risk of falling again within 6 months.  

While seniors may feel comfortable within their own homes, that’s exactly where most falls occur. However, many falls can be avoided with proper training and care.   

 

WHAT’S COVERED IN OUR FALL PREVENTION SPECIALTY PROGRAM 

At Caring Senior Service, we have processes and care plans in place to help prevent seniors from falling — wherever they go. Our fall-specific care includes an extensive Home Safety Assessment to identify and help address common hazards in the home. Our caregivers are also trained to help seniors who have sustained an injury from a fall, so we can help them safely recover at home and reduce their risk of falling again.
